SHINE FOR UKRAINE
WHERE DID THOSE LIGHTS COME FROM?
Beginning Wednesday, March 30, 2022, evening travelers entering I-15 or I-80 from 500 South will see Salt Lake City's Granary District silos bathed in yellow and blue lights resembling the Ukrainian flag. The installation is designed to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine on behalf of the Utah film and arts community. The projection will be in place for four weeks. The silos are also visible when exiting I-15 from 600 South.
To create the installation, 14 large film lights, provided by Redman Movies, are installed lighting up 11 of the huge silos. Camp4's Anson Fogel spearheaded the project in collaboration with Redman Movies, Locus Studios, Camp4 Collective and Sweetgrass Productions. Permission and access to the location as well as funding were provided by the BCG Holdings and The GIV Group.
